Cozy Day with Rafiki
by Kwizi Ndogole

Step #1: Gather your materials
Gather all your materials for making the doll so that you will be ready to start. (old t-shirt, scissors, needle/sewing machine, thread, thread pin, pencil, and paper)

Step #2: Sketch your doll
Sketch your doll style so that you will able to reference your doll as you go and it will be easier to cut out.

Step #3: Cut your doll
Since you already have a sketch for your doll, you need to cut your cloth for the doll. So you will need a cloth, thread pins, and scissors. You need to put the sketch on the cloth and put the thread pins to keep the sketch and the cloth together. After you finish, take the scissors and cut the sketch or the doll. You need to cut the same pattern twice so you have a front and a back for your doll.

Step #4: Start sewing your doll/ start putting your doll together
After you have finished cutting the cloth or the sketch, you need to start sewing the doll, but when you are about to finish sewing the doll you need to leave some space on the cloth so that you may be able to put some cloth inside your doll and it will have a shape you want and be able to stand.

Step #5: Cutting small pieces of cloth
After you have finished sewing the doll and left some space. You need to start cutting small pieces of clothing so that you can stuff your doll.

Step #6: Finish the doll
After you have finished cutting small pieces of cloth, you need to start putting the small pieces of cloth inside the doll, until you see that your doll is strong enough or full. Then you must remember to sew the small part you left in order to put the small piece of cloth in. After you finish sewing the small part then ta-da, you’re done!! Yay! Your doll will be ready to play with now.

Optional step: sewing on a face
If you want to sew a face for your doll, you will need some thread and a needle. When sewing your mouth and eyebrow, you need to do a stem stitch and for your eye, you can do the satin stitch
