I was so impressed with the depth of research and the passion that these students brought to their work and their presentation. They reinvigorated me around this work in our neighborhoods, and I was truly inspired by their engagement with this project.

For their Denver Neighborhood Bios project, Arts Street interns took on the challenge of not only learning about the districts and neighborhoods they live and/or go to school in, they identified an environmental issue they were concerned about and possible solutions. They went on a photo shoot around their neighborhoods documenting the history and issues of their community. They contacted their respective Denver City Council member and presented their findings to them in hopes of activating real change. On the Denver District Bio pages, you will find the district's history, an environmental issue and possible solutions and resources – all researched and created by the youth interns.
Explore the youth District Bios below! All information was researched and compiled by youth where credited. Information was not fact checked and does not reflect opinions of Denver’s City Council members. |
Each district represented has a photo gallery of images taken by Arts Street interns depicting the beauty of their district as well as environmental concerns. The gallery above is just a few of the photographs from around the districts.
Districts in color on the map (left) represent districts with which Arts Street interns have a connection; either where they live in, close family lives or where they go to school. www.denvergov.org |
