Step #1: Materials Gather the materials all together: Water bottles (5-10), depends on how many flowers you want to make, Scissors (1), Wire (5-10), Straws (5-10), depends on how many flowers you want to make, Cardboard (2-3 big pieces), to make the vase. Erasable maker (1), Glue gun (1), Candle (1) or a lighter is fine (1), Cutter (1), Set of paint (1), depends on what type of color you want for your flowers (A set of spray paint is fine also)
Step #2: Shape First, we need to cut the plastic water bottle into the shape of the flowers that we want. To start, we need to cut the bottle with a cutter into smaller shapes. Then, use the erasable marker to draw the size of the petal shapes. You then have to cut the plastic into the petal shape, at least 20 petals. When you cut the petals, make sure to have different sizes.
Step #3: Melt Start with lighting up the lighter or the candle. Then slowly put the petals over the flame (the plastic will turn blackish but don’t worry about it since we will be painting it). Do the same procedure for all the petals. Before lighting up the candle, if you’re under 16, please ask for a parent assistant before lighting up the candle. Also, please be careful the candle might burn you while you’re melting the plastic.
Step #4: Gather the Petals *make sure to read this before sticking the petals together*(For those who want to paint, you can paint the petals before you glue them together. Moreover, paint in the inside of the petals and make sure to put two-layer to paint into it).Now that you have all the petals melted down, gather the two smallest petals together and glue them with the glue gun. Then attach all the petals to the based (which are the two small petals that you glued together). Start from small petals then go on to the bigger ones.
Step #5: Design This step is based on what you would like your flower to look like. For those who want to spray paint the flower, you can do it right after the petals are glued together then spray the paint on the flower. If you want to put glitter on it, then you can use regular glue, spread it on the petals and put some glitter on it before it dries.
Step #6: Leaves Like the petals, draw the leaves onto the plastic water bottle before cutting it out. For design, you can choose whatever way you want to color the leaves
Step#7: The Stem In order to make the stem, take a plastic straw and glue it into the flower petals. This plastic can be colored in any way you want. Then you can glue the leaves together with the straw.
Step #8:Finishing touches on the flower After everything, you can repeat the steps again with any type of flower or any type of design.
Step #9: The Vase To start, cut a small circle for the base (small or big, your choice).To do the vase, use the cardboard and cut out some small square shapes. It doesn’t matter whether it the same size or not. Then use the glue gun and glue it on the base. After you get the size you want for your base, design the vase.
Step#10: Vase Design After finishing, you can design the vase however you want. *To make it more elegant, you can cut out some plastic water bottle and glue it on the cardboard vase. With this, you can also use the lighter flame to make the plastic bottle really stick into the vase so that it can be shinier* Step #11: Finish After making the vase, you can put all the plastic flowers into the vase and use it to decorate somewhere in your house
